The Tapestry Pattern Bar Platter
THE WEEKEND EDITION

A special session now available for folks that cannot take off during the regular work week.

June 3, 10 & 16, 2012 – 2 Sundays & a Saturday – 10:00am to 4:30pm each day

Create your own beautiful 7.5" by 13" by 3/8" thick and heavy tapestry in glass platter in this techniques and project workshop.

Starting with some information on color theory, you will design and create two 4 pounds each thick and heavy, 10" by 4" by 1" pattern bars on the first day of this workshop that go into the kiln at the end of class. On day two you’ll use ring and tile saws to slice up your slabs of glass to assemble your own tapestry platter that will be fired in the afternoon. On the last day, you’ll cold work your platter with a wet belt sander and sand blaster before it goes into the kiln one more time to fire polish and slump.

You’ll leave this workshop with a unique and beautiful creation as well the know how and plenty of pattern bar components you can incorporate in other works.
