Introduction to Kiln Formed Glass
Getting started with Fusing & Slumping

February 8, 2012 – Wednesday – Noon to 4:00pm

Ready to learn the fundamentals and make your own kiln formed (fused and slumped) glass projects? Then this is the perfect workshop for you.

You’ll learn about all the types of glasses that can be combined together in the kiln to make amazing works of art.  You will be introduced to fusing and slumping though both demonstrations and hand-on projects.  We’ll teach you about the forms of art glass, mold materials, kilns, and firing schedules. During hands-on work time, you will learn to cut glass (including circles) and will design, compose, and fire two fused and slumped plates that will dazzle your friends and family.

You will have fun learning all the technical aspects and fundamentals while at the same time making functional pieces that you will be proud to take home.

You’ll come away confident that it’s OK to play with glass at 1490F degrees!
