10:00am – 4:00pm each day

Stack it high and expose it to enough heat over time without boundaries and glass will seek a thickness of 6mm.  Now harness this principle in combination with some simple engineering to achieve new results in kiln formed glass relatively unexplored at this time.

Students will use the principles of flow, deformation, displacement and color placement to create at least two finished pieces that capture movement and currents in the glass. Lectures and hands-on work will include volume calculation, damming, refractory materials, firing schedules and coldworking.

You will leave the workshop with enough information to keep experimenting in this relatively unexplored technique on your own.
